Root Canals for Children

Our office provides root canal therapy on permanent dentition to children as young as seven years old.

However, suppose your child’s permanent tooth has extensive decay or has been damaged by trauma. In that case, action may be needed to restore the tooth’s integrity and prevent infection from spreading to surrounding teeth.

After a set of X-rays are taken, Dr. Ahn will be able to assess the extent of the infection and recommend one of two options.

— Complete root canal treatment

— Regenerative endodontic procedure if it is an immature tooth (incomplete root formation)
